When I was younger I read so much.it was an escape . I stopped reading. Is hard to read more than a couple pages at a time. Enjoyed.

I was like that for the last year. Couldn’t read more than a chapter or two before losing interest. I spent the last month slowly pushing through a book I should have loved and now it’s broken the readers block lol

Aimee-- welcome back. I have missed your writings and your stories. I love to read, and always have a stack of books waiting for me. When the weather is nice the outdoors calls me, but I don’t wish to read when I’m sitting outside. But I will get to my stack of books soon as it gets cooler. I feel like I might be doing social media too much at times. Usually when I am at home my phone is in another room when I am not, and that works best for me to stay off my phone and do other things. But I live alone and I love the stillness of the alone time! I started doing social media to keep up with my grandchildren and their activities, but they seem to do it less now and I do up more. But that will change again to when the weather changes. Thanks for writing again, you know I love to readYour stuff.

A good book of course! I am an avid reader. Before COVID19, I would read about 3 books a week. I was a regular at the local library. A woman I met in college is a librarian there.

But the library closed for awhile then access became very limited. I had to go online and pick the books then go the library at an appointed time, wear gloves and a mask to pick up my books!!!

SO I went less and less and got bored and discovered I could watch movies on Netflix! As many as I wanted without data overage charges!!! That may end? I don't know but I've bought some books from a book series and I'm reading them now. They are based in 878 AD what now is England but during that time the continent was in chaos....off I go. To read.

Spot on Aimee. I allow way too many distractions, including social media, take me away from more important things that will enrich my life or my mind.

The only social media I am on is Telegram Channels, and I have Graham to thank for that, without him I would have never known that Telegram existed. After starting off with just Grahams channel because of some of his posts I found I was encouraged to view others, and as they say once you start down the ‘ rabbit hole ‘ you find you can’t go back. I have learned so much through doing that, so I don’t really see it as a problem.

Like you I love books and I know that if for any reason at a precise time I’m not reading I know I can go back to it. Books will always be a part of my life. Books will always be there , waiting for someone to pick them up and to turn the pages , discovering the great stories that lie within them. When reading I hear the characters voices in my head. And in the past when I have read stories that have been written by someone I know, I can hear their voice in my head reading me their book. Best form of escapism in my opinion!

My biggest issue is scrolling mindlessly on IG , FB, and Twitter. I guess I see Telegram as a bit of a different creature.

I haven’t got IG or Facebook , I do have a Twitter account and GETTR but have never commented on either. I sort of use it as another form of getting info, especially GETTR as it’s sort of like an extension of Telegram. IG and FB have never appealed to me at all. My kids use it perhaps that is the reason I steer clear. However Callum has joined me on Telegram recently so I’m able to pass onto him articles and info that I think he will be interested in. We are like minded in our views of the present situation in the world so we share. Others in the family don’t feel the same which makes life difficult sometimes, if you know what I mean😏

I do know what you mean. I’m still a bit of a no vaccine black sheep in my family
