I wanted to share this here as well because I feel like I truly learned something valuable today. Maybe it will touch you all as well!!
‘I have actually made a pretty great discovery today. I’ve been without a working car since mid November. I rented a car this past weekend to round up parts and tools to fix my car. But that’s another story.
The rental was due back today at noon. I got there an hour early, dropped off the car and ordered a Lyft to get me to the store to return some parts. Now, I don’t like using ride sharing because in my past experiences it’s been awkward.
The first Lyft guy picked me up, and after feeling me out a bit in conversation, he launched into a discussion with me about Putin, Putin’s long table, etc. He had some good theories that made a lot of sense. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation! He was fascinating to talk to.
The second Lyft guy(getting me home from the store) was a bit of a nerd like me. We talked about his admirably ambitious plans for the future, the fortress he wants to build incase of a zombie apocalypse, guns, and a few other things. I was a bit sad when the ride came to and end.
So, all of this to say that I need to work on finding the fun in uncomfortable situations. And on top of that, I need to find the fun in being me! Both of these guys seemed to enjoy the conversations as much as I did. I had the second one laughing his butt off. I hope I injected maybe a little bit of light into their lives.’
